After the success of “Catch The Beat,” the Liberty Lane Films team was tasked with creating a music video for his new single, “Crack In The Land Of The Free.” The brief was relatively simple: create a low-fi but memorable music video for a song whose theme is a tongue-in-cheek commentary on today’s modern culture. To tackle this, Vishnu created an inventive concept that allowed Forrest to personify three caricatures: a greedy capitalist, a politician, and a rock star.

The team we put together to bring this concept to life was amazing. Cinematographer Alec Smith’s masterful camerawork captured this concept beautifully. Production Designer Jarrad Webster set the stage for the show, and our Gaffer, Kat McLain, created a perfectly low-fi look for these shots. We also deployed the talented Steadicam Operator, Austin Fiare, to capture the inserts and cutaway shots. Unlike most standard music videos which use the 16:9 aspect ratio, we chose the more cinematic aspect ratio of 2.39:1, which lends itself beautifully to this concept.

To say it was a challenge to shoot this video would be an understatement, but we’re really proud of how the whole team came together to create this video. It was a barrel of fun making this video!
